My parents won't let me follow my dreams?

-I want to become an actress. My parents said no way. They don't want me to become a "slut" or what ever. I know I can follow my dream after the age of 18 I can do whatever I want but I'll feel guilty? I need my parents to be their for me. My party's are really strict they don't even let me have sleepovers or go outside of the neighborhood alone(not unless im with them) Im 13 and really want follow my dreams. I want to start auditions now. What can I do to convince my parents? Also they DON'T want me to do any kissing scenes especially.. Or anything sexual..You are only thirteen and don't have to make decisions right now, you have all the time in the world to achieve this dream. The best thing to do is stick in at your education, work hard and prove to your parents that you are responsible and will work for what you want. Get involved in drama related organisations that your parents shoul approve of - school plays, drama classes and groups etc.



Don't think about kissing scenes or sex scenes just yet - you are thirteen! In fact, don't even mention them to your parents, that won't get them on your side. They just want to keep you safe and are looking out for you. If you are really desperate to go to a certain audition, make sure it is nearby. You don't want to ask your parents huge favours if they are already against it. Ask them to accompany you for safety and let them know every detail of the part - they will want to know everything about it and make sure it is legit and safe.



Tell your parents of how this is your one dream, but don't become a little child wailing because their parents are unfair. You need to show maturity. You might also change your mind about this dream in a few years time, so keep you options open and stick in at school - you will always need your education, don't forget it!I also want to become an actress/model and i am also 13 tell youre parents that it is something that most people dont get to do because of thier PARENTS. my dad and step mom is very strict as well they wont let me where make up and the dont know i want to become a actress/model. but i told my mom that its a way for me to see the world and i want to do it so she said yes.....I hope you become famous someday. :) hope i helped!
No matter how bad you want to become an actress, it is a very tough business to get into. You don't just need talent, but a lot of breaks along the way. You have to know someone in the industry who can get you somewhere. It is very rare that you get noticed right out of your home town. Have a backup plan in life. Just incase the whole acting thing doesn't work out. You are only 13 too. That is very young. Any good parent would be strict with a 13 year old.
I'm sure they had dreams which obviously they didn't reach or they'd be supportive. You must be at school right. Get into performing arts, drama section in your school you can only hope after that they'll be more supportive. To be an actress it requires exp so make sure u involve yourself in the ones at school right now. I know when i was in school there would be shows, an a day when the teachers tell parents how your doing i think that would help. DO NOT be discouraged. Follow your dreams no matter what its all that matters. Remember to convince them.. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.

You are very young. Your parties should be strict. You shouldn't be wandering around on your own. Also, you are really to young to really know what you want anyway.
Do it don't let anyone ever tell you can't do it
Sit them down and talk to them honestly about you're dreams! Tell them that it would mean so much if they could support you.
The only way you'll get into the acting world is if you get in it very young...try out for Disney that seems bearable come one. Or Try pantomime they are harmless. Good luck:)x
