Why do i look guilty when iam not guilty?

-Iam sooo confused! So my mom walks in my room and talks about my room and Iam on my phone doing my usal thing (its not bad, just txting bout boy problems blah blah blah) and then she's like what are you doing? And I said I was just txting my friends then she said I looked guilty which I knew I did but I didn't do anything that should make me feel guilty. Why do I look and kinda feel guilty but Iam not guilty!?!?Maybe it's because you feel bad right then because of boy problems and your mom had to catch you at THAT time.

Also, it may be because you are have been caught doing something wrong before and you feel guilty for no reason.I suspect it's your mother's suspicion that is making you feel this way. Some parents are very good at making their kids feel guilty for nothing.



Practice having some jokes ready that make fun of the guilt-- like:

"It's fine, Mom, I'm only texting my prison boyfriend."

"My boyfriend, Spike, wants to know if you are hot, Mom."

or "One minute, Mom, I'm texting your bank account info to my new Nigerian friend."
You just feel guilty because that's how moms make you feel.
